A native of Colorado, Kurtis Lee traveled to the east coast where he attended Temple University and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in journalism and political science. Reporting through an array of platforms, after graduation in 2009, he moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked as an online writer for the PBS NewsHour. Lee joined The Denver Post in February 2011 and covers state and national politics. He's also an anchor for Denver Post TV, the newspaper's daily video broadcast of top breaking news stories. In 2013, Lee was a member of The Denver Post staff that won the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News coverage of the Aurora theater shooting. While not at work it's likely Lee's watching the Nuggets, Broncos or Rockies as he’s an avid sports fan.
