Kurtis Lee is a reporter for the Los Angeles Times covering the 2016 presidential campaign. Lee covered state and national politics at The Denver Post for 3 ½ years prior to joining The Times. He’s also reported from the scenes of destructive wildfires and mass shootings and was a member of the Post staff that won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news coverage of the Aurora theater shooting. While at The Post, Lee was an anchor for Denver Post TV, the newspaper's daily video broadcast of top breaking news stories. Before reporting for The Post he worked as an online writer at the PBS NewsHour. Lee attended Temple University, graduating cum laude in 2009 with a B.A. in journalism and political science. When he’s not working, it’s likely Lee's following the Nuggets, Broncos or Rockies as he’s an avid Colorado sports fan.
